"Cry, the Beloved Country" by Alan Paton, Kind of required reading in South Africa, not a feel great book but a great read.

"Moffie" by Andr Carl van der Merwe read it because of the recent film release. Superb.

"Agaat" by Marlene van Niekerk, a chick book that Mrs Bop recently read that I picked up and was very impressed with

" journalese" written in a dry encyclopediac style for research and information. It's like reading a newspaper.

If you must jostle every day with the vulgar herd for your daily bread you will have very little time to read.

In the hurly-burly of modern life there is very little time to read.

Therefore you must make a conscious effort to set aside time in your daily routine for reading.

Blessed are the wealthy who have the leisure (and inclination) to read !

Heyyyy tony b Bop, I have 3 best authors on my list that are south African.

One is a poet, the other a magazine journo and the other a playerwriter/novelist and they all have written some good read which I enjoy. I guess you just missed that...lol

I also enjoy some Afrikaans literature books too which some were made movies and theatre material.
