No one knows what is coming, some speculate and sometimes get it right but most of the time get it wrong.

I am with "eldrige" on this. The Lock-down and extension there off was absolutely necessary. Government has never claimed it is to stop infections, but rather to buy time to get our medical systems ready to cope with what could potentially be happening. They do admit that they have basically postponed the peak.

Yes it does come at a huge cost to each and everyone, but I rather face that, then a life without a loved one, possibly one of my kids, or grand kids. Being active on this site, you all should know money can't buy you love.

To all the negative "Nellies" out there., don't ask Tegsie for advice. He ran away many years ago, and now find himself in a place much worse affected than back in SA.

Hang in there, use this opportunity to rather spend quality time with your family, than complaining about the Government.

In my opinion these draconian measures were not necessary, more so if like me, you don't believe in the severity or veracity of this 'pandemic'
Having said that, I believe our President has acted in good faith in trying to negate the 'illness' which he, along with most world leaders, believes is real and dangerous.
There are however still people/citizens who will never give credit to anything our President or government does and will automatically criticize everything, even if it's done efficiently and in good faith. In fact some even sound disappointed that our country has not lost more of its people and will look for reasons to try elevate these numbers or God forbid, "they" (government) are doing something efficiently.
Every death is tragic and we pray our country does not suffer any more unnecessarily. My fear however is the damage that this lockdown has done and will do to our people and our country
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Never would have thought we will agree on anything. Although we differ on the Lock-down itself, I am 100% with you on the rest.

One of those, that always have and will find fault with the President is the #TheOneThatRanwAway. The one and only .......

We can always agree to disagree as opposed to disagree to agree (or something like that, lol).
In my opinion, there are two kinds of previously 'priviledged' South Africans (or ex-South Africans) since the advent of majority rule. Those that ran away and those that didn't run away (or couldn't run away) and that remained. Both kinds have one thing in common, they are bitter and resentful and will look for any excuse to blame the majority government for their 'woes'.
I am the first to say that our government could have, should have done more for our long suffering citizens, but sadly out of misguided "loyalty" or "entitlement" they allowed criminals and comrades to self enrich and self empower themselves (The apartheid regime was not different with this loyalty, entitlement and self-enrichment philosophy).
However one's loyalty and love should lie with your country, its sun, its soil, its beauty, its people and your loved ones, irrespective of who is in power.
Citizens hating on their own brethren is just unacceptable and another sad chapter in our/the loss of humanity.

No disrespect john_adams but these type of questions/suggestive statements are better understood with substantial backing. No use warning or alarming people of what's worse to come if you don't say exactly what it is that is to come, so that you can help your people or even yourself to be protected. Unless you say this and you have a built in underground dungeon, stocked up for centuries, prepared for your own safety.

Those who will judge, tease and make fun of you because of what you are afraid to tell them, is not something you should be ashamed of. You should go ahead and say something and be careful that it is facts you're sharing. But warning without substantial foreseeable evidence is just downright dangerous.

And calling people 'smucks' (to describe anything less intelligent) is a downright disgrace to you or your generation or lack thereof. Look into it, or you might turn out to be your own worst nightmare.

The universal language is not an easy language.

I think our president is cool, some of the ministers not so much. The fumble with the mask and him laughing it off the next day was classic. Some woman got into kak for calling him a name (Google it), what an idiot.

It is such public comments, that crush us people in this country. That's how we keep going back instead of moving forward.

Well she made her bed and you know what they say! Deleting a FB account after that didn't seem to help her situation.

Which kind of reminds me of the many deleted accounts of those who caused chaos here on this forum too. Comment then delete...lol
