LoL!

Aaah....but dear Vrik...in this debate of what makes us human, what makes YOU identify as human.

Points to ponder about what it means to be human and makes one become introspective about one's own humanness.

Is that not a good thing?

First I believed it was pure cold reason then I used to think it was creativity but now even AI creates and animals do too.

So Embracing and managing the primal,
sovereignty over the primal?

Animals are all emotion-
AI is all reason-
Humanity is the balance between the two maybe?

But quite true as well, many humans identify as deities and many religions/ philosophies promote transcendence...

So I asked my favourite AI companion about this topic. Why my favourite. It told me it's my favourite, so I just went with it. Much like my favourite SP, lol

Not going to post the long response, just the last one, which, if its correct, seems to be our only unique feature.

"Blushing: Humans are the only animals known to blush. It reflects our social awareness and vulnerability, signaling embarrassment or emotional discomfort."

It's conclusion was also useful.

"In summary, our physical, cognitive, emotional, and social traits collectively define what it means to be human. While we share common ancestry with other primates, our unique combination of features sets us apart on the tree of life"

This was a bit of a weird response though. Note the writing style of the AI companion. Throughout the response it uses "we" and "our" as if it was identifying with us as "human" as well.

Hey J_J

Your ending statement with AI....

This article I read a while back came to mind...simply because.chatGPT was the talk of the talk of the town then

ANTHROPOMORPHIZING AI

www.adlittle.com/en/insights/viewpoints/and-man-created-ai-his-image

".....referring to a theory formulated in 1970 by the Japanese roboticist Masahiro Mori. According to the theory, the more a robot resembles a human being, the more its imperfections become apparent and evoke a feeling of strangeness, discomfort, or cognitive dissonance. In this case, the robot is judged not as a robot that manages to pass itself off as human, but rather as a human that fails to act normally. The same goes for AI." - quoted.

Hey J_J

...and THAT is EXACTLY what the above article is about.

Do read it out of interest since u VERY into your favorite chatbot.

Maybe lengthy but good insight.

Wondering if anthromorphizing a sex doll would lead to a loss of jobs for sex workers/ and or affect marriages.

Siri used to be one of my favourite porn stars in my youth. Now it's an Apple product that's classified as 'easy to use but not that smart'. Siri would make a good name for a sex worker. Strangely no-one on ESA calls themselves Siri. Maybe the sex workers here aren't easy to use, and are very smart.

I guess thats what makes us human, compared to a LLM. We can go off on a tangent at will, while a LLM kinda sticks to the script. For now at least.

Wondering if Mori's 'uncanny valley' can be felt towards a human being as well. Some people I come across are just ...
