If he is found guilty of culpable homicide, which i'm sure he will be, he will serve time.
My guess is 3-5 years and he'll be out in 2.
Whatever the outcome, it doesn't bring back that lovely young woman whose promising life he extinguished so cruelly and so prematurely, nor will it bring closure to her bereaved family.

Listening to the legal experts it seems that the main point of discussion is the interpretation of the term "dolus eventualis" He heard a noise, had time to fetch his gun which was on Reevas side of the bed, take it out of the holster, take the safety catch off and walk to the bathroom. All of this the judge mentions in making a case for culpabable homicide. If you google "dolus eventualis" it seems that the same principles apply,ie: you must have foreseen that your actions might result in a humans life being taken. It seems the learned judge is using the same criteria to go for culpabable homicide. I'm no legal expert, but after listening to the experts this case could set a precedent for many cases in the future whereby people can duck a murder charge (if you have enough moola)

If you look at how easy she extended his bail, he will not serve 1 day in jail.

Maybe she can just post or email the sentence to him and his family. Well all I can say is the South African Law has failed Reeva.

They had an argument. He went for his gun. She was shocked to see this side of him. She ran screaming trying to hide in the bathroom.
In a fit of rage and jealousy he shot her , firing four shots through the bathroom door.
Then he realized the enormity of his crime and the consequences for HIM.

Judge Masipa ,I say
you got a call from high places not to jail him.

I must say i fully agree with the learned Mr Ben Layden on his analysis of the happenings on that fateful day. I mean going backwards and forwards to fetch and load his weapon and in all that time he never thought about where his beloved Reeva maybe??. Please lets not insult the intelligence of the average human!!, but i guess proving beyond reasonable doubt is the tricky one. He KNEW she was in the toilet FFS.

Thank you, but you don't even have to be "learned" to realize that there is something very amiss in the high and palmy state of Rome.

Actually I have been quite depressed about this outcome.
It upsets my moral equilibrium.

Imagine how Reeva's parents and family and friends feel about this.
