I have been toying with the idea of not writing this post as I am sure there will be some who will want to twist this away from its positive intent, but eventually decided to celebrate the positive and to give you some feedback on the charity work that happened between end March and end May. While the on-forum promoting of charity stopped when I was requested to stop, fortunately it had enough momentum to have carried on much longer in the background.

Originally there was one big donor that kick-started this via one of the ladies who wished to remain anonymous, but who was actually the one who asked me to be the voice on forum. A special thanks to her and the donor as without their initiative, it may well not even have started. Over time the thing got a life of its own! As I said there was a fair chunk of cash just before lockdown and with that we bought food packages and physically distributed those just before lockdown. At that stage there was not a lot of enthusiasm from the punting community in terms of monetary contributions. In the first week we did not even get to R3k :-(
But then the miracle started to happen! Folks asked me who I thought may need help and then they bought checkers vouchers for these ladies or sent them EFTs etc. I gave a name and a need where I knew of it and the gent responded as and how he wished. Some supported many and others said " no, give me another name, I don't like x". (At no stage did I share the whole list with anybody. I gave names and contact numbers only as and when directly required).
I asked them to report back to me if they managed to give so that I could sort of keep track of which people did receive help and which should still be top of list. Some did respond and some didn't (no accusation!). Here and there the ladies also let me know when they recieved "out of the blue".

Then the implications of the lockdown became more real and some punters and SPs alike started to arrange for me to be the intermediary to buy vouchers. They sent me the cash and I bought. In that way there are no sp names on bank accounts, but we can still support.
Some wanted to give from abroad, but bank regulations made it difficult. Some could some could not, but the important part to note is the goodwill and intent!

To cut a long story short, I am aware of upwards of R70K worth of charity that circulated. Some through my hands but mainly directly between the other parties, I just know about it. I am sure there were probably thrice as much (if not more) that I just do not know about.

Some House owners also gave generously (heard it from the ladies, so Im sure not false claims) and some ladies were effectively left to their own fate by house owners, but lets focuss on the good ones. There are some really generous house owners!! Good on you.

One MG offered 7x FH (pay now fly later) at MG pricing in order to buy food for her community. That donation didn't stay purple, but while we are celebrating purple goodwill, why not mention. (I saw photos of the food and the distribution)

For the benefit of the doom and gloom brigade, I will be transparent on failures as well.
I am aware of 2 vouchers being sold on and one case where electricity that was bought but ended up not getting there (may even be a finger-fault on my side). 1 case of exaggerated need statement. There were 3 cases where the amount the guy told me he bought a voucher for and the amount the lady told me she received did not correlate. I did not even spend time considering who was lying there. I guess the "friend" who tried to get milage from a voucher he did not send can also be listed as a charity distortion. I also know of a punter who "donated" only to go claim a punt after the fact. While the amounts were more or less similar, the "collection" was a surprise to the lady. Someone also tried to catch me with a long sad story, which in cross checking I found to be false. All and all the value of the above is below 4K. While I also had someone who contacted me for a bottle of wine which was urgently needed, i choose to see that as a joke.

I also want to give a shout out for the social network among the ladies. I received some very honest feedback in my correlations and thus managed to avoid giving to undeserving cases.
Some of the most needy was too proud to indicate their need and had it not been for info from other ladies I would not have known.

So in short, from this alledged scamming agterbakse moerskont, vuil fokker and self cofessed Pervert (tongue in cheek); I just want to say that as twisted at it may sound to some, I am VERY proud of the purple community. It is nice to see that gents do not always have a hit and run attitude and that some folks actually do walk the walk.

Thank you so much to all of the great people that supported people. Mashakane in action!!

There is still a lot of good in this world!! Dont let the muggles get you down

I for one was saved at the beginning of lockdown which in turned inspired me enough to keep going and trying.
If it wasn't for the help I would have given up.

Thank you!

Since the Xmas charity drive, I am personally aware of more than R500k that has been given in good faith to people who needed it via this forum.

This is heart warming to read..;) The purple community has once again shown that they are a lot more that just a sexually orientated community but a full fleshed caring community that would go the extra mile to help out their fellow human beings.

Definitely a lot more positive that came from this "crisis" than negative..

I want to thank every single one that has contributed, be it by time, emotional or financial support.

That figure would not surprise me at all;)

IF we should start counting money spent on buying content that punters would normally not do but did do mostly to support ladies because let's face it porn is free this is personal support..that figure would sky rocket;)

I was a beneficiary of food parcels as well as cash and airtime. I will forever be in your debt. I dunno what I would have done without the purple support.

YV... You are the man! Thank You. I have helped one or two of our lovely ladies! Wish there was more I could do for them, but such is life. Keep up the great work.
