In a way I got it and in a way I didn't. For some its purely because they because they couldn't get it for 2 months. Like me looking for chocolate muffin mix. Ordinarily it wouldn't bother me but because Spar didn't have I trekked to Checkers and PnP. Normally its fine, I will do without. A few weeks later it was in stock. I bought but I still haven't baked it.
This is what 2 family members told me.... they did NOT go stand in queues from 5. They're working already. The one is overseeing renovations at a mansion for a client and was given free reign of the cellar. He had permit to travel and work. But he said it waa just too much effort to drive to Camps Bay just for wine.
But others are alcoholics and those who were queueing are probably the same guys who stacked up on plenty of booze Thurs 25/3 to last them throughout the originals lockdown and finished it by 1/4. And they are probably the same guys who were paying R800/btl or who caused pineapple prices to rocket.
Those who just calmly rode out the wave were not too bothered and will buy booze today for the weekend.
Someone gave me wine and I couldn't stand the taste after 10, maybe 12 weeks without. After that I am too scared to waste my own money on wine that I may not find as good anymore.

You think the lines were bad on Monday. I predict they'll be REALLY bad this afternoon.

After a stiff drink I am much more arosed and last longer ;)

To each his own.
I enjoy a good drink at least once a week. All the music and film I consume while inebriated make the content feel a lot more enjoyable and cathartic. Took Monday and Tuesday off just to satisfy my craving. Barely stood in a queue for some 15 minutes before I stocked up for a good few weekends.
Oh and the day after, Mr Member is simply insatiable.
