That is a fine query and one that I believe needs to be asked at the early stages of catching feelings. At that stage both people need to ensure that they are on the same page when it comes to their interpretation of the words 'grown up' and 'commitment' as they tend to be understood differently from person to person.

Questions such as this when asked early on, are helpful at clarifying what is required from a person and also whether the person is actually capable of giving that. We then have a better chance of making an informed decision as to whether to pursue the relationship.

If however, we catch the proverbial feelings and pursue a long term relationship before such questions have been addressed or if they are answered in such a way that is not satisfying...then both are leaving it to fate to decide if they are heading in the same direction.

I like this,Such wise advice kisses

Why should we?
You ask when does a man grow up and I would therefor assume that you met 'him' in a particular way which has led you to catch feelings and now you wish for him to change and 'grow up' as you state. Don't cry in a few months when he 'is no longer the man you met'

They do grow up,but remember men tend to grow up a lot slower.Mentally and emotionally women grow up way faster than man.I would say it depends on the guy and always on how you react, you can't make a guy grow up but you can control how you react.

Also cultural norms around "growing up" are shifting in a big way,in the olden days it was easy to commit, nowadays everyone's on a mission.

In my opinion as a woman, you need to have a sense of what you want and when you want it.You have to recognize that many of the guys you're coming into contact with are doing nothing to help you achieve your goals.Your job is not to lower your standards or alter your goals, your job is to find the place/time where guys that align with your goals are likely to appear. This means leaving your typical crowd for a while,in my experience thinking your going to make a man commit,or grow up is wrong headed.
