You dont know. Sometimes I get the urge to help an I see it as divine guidance. Man, women doesn't matter

Agreed. I feel ive become a tad "anti-beggar" of late, preferring to instead donate to bona-fide charities.

I do sometimes give a beggar but not always easy (or advisable) to get your wallet out at the robot. But i refuse to give anything to a beggar who smokes - used to always spare a few rands to a humble looking guy at the robot in my area, until i saw him pull out a cigarette from a 20s pack of Stuyvesant and puff away.

He never got a cent from me ever since...

It differs for me from time to time

Sometimes a gut feel makes me donate to anyone man or woman
spontaneously...

When you had a good business day pay it forward if you in a position to give

If they are in need or not it's none of my concern it's the intention behind my giving that matters

Not judging, just acknowledge that they are there, or a smile...

Sometimes you see someone, and something inside of you speaks to you. Sometimes it says do something. Sometimes it says nooo. Recently I walked away when it said do something, a few hours later, I went back. Kept hearing myself say I should have.

Unfortunately at most robots there are people begging. You can only do so much,
If we keep on giving, they will continue to stand at thr robots, especially the ladies with the babies, it's not a good environment for a child.

I believe the salvation army and several other charity organizations have shelter and basic food etc for them, but they refuse to go because the public keeps on giving money at the robots

It's sad that children get used as a means to get money.
I was told that the children aren't always theirs, that parents rent their kids out to these woman at robots, sad

its sad and its becoming more and nore rife. nothing more we can do. its the governments problem but what good are they? They only help themselves full stop. I give and always have money in the sslot made for drinks so lots of silver in there. no need to take out your wallet then you asking for trouble. cant blame them either if they steal it as they probably never seen a wallet before. keep money where i have just said then give to whomever you feel like. Whats a couple rands from you to help them? Not much is it? many people shun them....i certainly dont. i took a boy from the road one day and used him ever since, hes brilliant in the garden. I wish i could give all the guys who stand outside builders in northgate and all the other builders offering their jobs they do. Sad very sad. Ram wake up.!!!!
