Punctuality:
I have had a rough couple of days... A sick child, a sick security guard, a sick employee, a sick nephew and a sick sister.
I had the decency to let my clients know as soon as possible when I could not honor a meeting.
Yesterday I had a very rough day in court again. Tuesday I was preparing for court obviously.
I have had clients send me a message early in the morning and canceling on very short notice...
Some of which sends me a little something as an apology because they understand that I lost income by not arranging an alternative meeting and not being able to recover that loss.
Those men are my heroes!
I always make sure to spoil them extra when we do manage to reconcile our diaries...
A special outfit, something delicious to eat of me...
However: when we schedule a meeting and you are 19 minutes late and you said you might be 10 minutes late and I hear nothing from you and I burst into tears....
And you still then want to see me for 30 minutes with my eyes all red and puffy...
Crying because I got myself all ready for you...
I bathed, shaved, put on make up, perfume, did my hair, pretty underwear and shoes, something sexy to wet your appetite...
And you don't arrive, or cancel, or you are 19 minutes late with no communication...
What must I do?
How must I feel?
Please consider this the next time when you schedule a meeting with someone and then treat them like this.
Please understand that in that moment I feel a million things... that I can't verbalize to anyone.
Please be a hero to me instead. Cancel as soon as you realize that you won't be able to honor your meeting. Apologize, and make a point of rescheduling...
Why? Because it makes me feel respected, cherished, honored...
Not just some THING that is there at your beck and call. Someone whose time you do not respect. Someone who you think so little of as a person.
I don't steal. I provide a service as best as I can. I am trying to survive and build up a life.
Please respect that.
