It is neither idiotic nor a rookie mistake to ask if u may touch.

Some people are simply shy or maybe feel a little intimidated or unsure, which is perfectly fine and can be endearing rather than being a bull in a China shop or disrespectfully presumptuous and think that anything goes.

Even asking upfront when making a booking might help, all in the hope the SP keeps her word and offers what she says.

And then there is that spontaneouty that just happens between 2 people or that no-go because something just don't feel right.
