Any punters out there who have been caught in a police raid. Pleaqse give some feedback and perhaps advice on how to contain the faalout from such an event.

When i was working for Divine when they were situated in Rivonia we got caught in a raid.

The police called and made an appointment, we opened up and whaaaaam...

There were ten police men and four police ladies.
They were armed and very intimidating.

They asked us weather we knew why we are being raid, we said no, we just denied denied denied.

They said they had a tip off that we are prostitutes acting as massage therapists and we have drugs on the premises. They knew way too much personal info than the average police man would know. Some one who knew us all personally tipped them off. Some one with a vendetta.

They searched our bags, clothes and the entire house....dustbins...in the roof etc.

they were searching for drugs, condoms and whatever else could prove we were prostitutes on drugs.

Luckily no clients were present as it was late at night around 9pm, we were usually quiet at that time.

After taking all our ID numbers to look for any criminal backgrounds, and after the search and all was over they left.

One officer said ' you lucky, the only illegal thing we found is that you have no business rights on the house'

Long story short...Rivonia house closed down.
It is a very scary thing to go through....

What would happen if they found condoms in all the rooms ? Or in the room where you are being massaged ? Even tough some massages is done in the nude ?

Can there be any charges if they don't actually catch you exchanging money.

At some point (years ago) I heard a story that in the case of prostitution it is illegal for the prostitute but not the punter (man). Apparently the laws were outdated. I am NOT sure about this and I can't even remember where I heard it. Maybe there is a legal (lawyer) punter here that can shed some light. Maybe they don't punt, they just fuck their clients for free ;-)

So they found condoms... so what? They're not illegal. They're available at any clinic, any supermarket, and any pharmacy.

Police will not easily raid a venue unless they are (a) Looking for drugs (b) Acting on a complaint from a neighbour. Cops have much more pressing issues to attend to than a few hookers and punters. Street walkers is a whole different ball game though.

Working Girls and Punters alike
If you are caught up in a raid - tell the truth, cops have heard it all before and when I say heard it all I mean that cops can write books of the excuses. Admit that you are wrong and take responsibiliyt for yourself. You will be making the cops life and your own alot easier. DO NOT try and negotiate!!!!!

You will be charged in terms of the sexual offences act and will have the option of paying an admission of guilt fine R 500.00 or you can choose to appear in court and try bullshit a magistrate. If found guilty in court you face perjury aswell as being fined for punting. AOG is the best option, but by being honest and appearing truly scared (you will be) you may even be let off with a warning because you have provided comic relief to a bunch of cops who have much better things to do.

If you are to be given AOG - then the following procedure will occur.
1) You will go to the cop shop
2) You will be asked for your full name, address, contact details, marital status and place of employment to be placed on a charge sheet (J15)
3) A further page (SAP 4M) will be completed which is a brief statement of what happened.
4) You will be advised of your constitutional rights and asked to sign that you know and understand them, sign the damn thing it is only to inform you of your rights (SAP14A - yellow page)
5) You will then wait whilst these details are captured and you are processed through the registers and books. You may even be fingerprinted - standard procedure nothing sinister. You might be placed in a holding cell for this short period but not likely.
6) You can then pay your fine or ask someone to come fetch you and bring the cash.
All in all the whole process is pretty similar to being arrested for drinking in public / urinating in public / getting a speeding fine and paying it YOU ARE ADMITTING THAT YOU ARE GUILTY. This stuff does not go on your criminal record and will most likely not come back to bite you in the ass.
Lie and / or try intimidate the cops and you will discover just how creative these guys can get. Most of these guys are gonna be pissed at you anyway cause you were shagging a hot honey while they had to work, so don't aggravate them further. And what ever you do - DO NOT say ' I KNOW THIS PERSON AND I WILL HAVE YOUR JOB IN THE MORNING' This might just prompt them to try and assist you by perhaps calling your wife on your behalf to come pay the fine or worse. I know of a punter on this forum who pulled that self same stunt at a Northern JHB cop shop and lets just say that the ensuing showdown in the charge office when his wife arrived was hilarious. It made Jerry Springer look like an episode of Pumpkin Patch.
Cops may try and scare you but keep calm and realise that there is nothing more than the above that can happen provided they do not find drugs on you or in the room you are in.
As for condoms - they are also supplied by the governement and occasionally stapled to pamphlets.

Well that sounds like fun! I am going to put bullet on speed dial, no shnoring with the cops just pay boet!
