So I just heard on the news that sex work services is no longer a crime.... Seems like the scammers must find a new revenue stream... Lol

Not sure in which country you are, but in the Republic of South Africa it is still a crime.

At least talks under way to decriminalise sex work in SA
good news yes but now Sir SARS will knock on our accounts too not sure if am making sense though.....

SARS will only come and knock on your door if you are a registered tax payer.... Like right now, if you are registered as a tax payer, they will come and ask for what's owed to them to be paid.
Even if decriminalization/legalisation happen, if you still don't register as a tax payer, SARS will not come and knock on your door....
There are so many legit business owner that do not pay tax that I dont think you should worry about SARS coming after you. Unless once again you are registered as a tax payer.
To me it will not make sense for a wg to register as a tax payer, even though it makes life easier for certain things. I do not think that in this country paying tax offer as much benefit as it should be and if I had a choice myself, I would definitely not pay tax. One can access anything and everything without paying tax.

Even if legal, the scammers will likely continue. Who is willing to share with famm and friends this "legal" hobby?
