Just had a meeting with the bosses and was hoping for a bigger increase than just 2.5%, haven't had an increase in two years, a span which saw me become employee of the month but all that work comes down to just 2.5%, was really expecting more considering how expensive things have become but I have to be content with 2.5% maybe I'm being ungrateful or something but times are tough, electricity costs are fortune for something that barely is on half of the time, food is expensive, kids need clothes, school and etc, after 2 years can't even get like 10% higher...

That 2.5% is 2.5% more than most guys got,and 2.5% more than what you had before.

Think everyone would like a decent increase, and most do complain about what we get / not get. It's human to do it.

Got all the praise of the good work and the high rating and how difficult it is too get such a good rating and how I'm appreciated blah blah and waiting for the increase and dun dun dun... No increase, also after 2 years and already took a huge knock in salary accepting this job in the first place. So sitting on my 2012 salary for the last 2 years and no light on the horizon.

This economy and uhm, "hiring legislation" sucks big time!

2.5% is quite the norm by looks of things, I work for an Australian company the same.

Well there is the blue telecoms "countsperm" company, 1200 employees soon to be unemployed... So 2.5% is good considering what SA currently face.
