I just read a comment posted by a fellow punter who visited a service provider and a week later was scammed by someone impersonating a SAPS official. I want to confirm this is actually happening and also happened to me as well. I may assume that this now confirms the service provider I had also called some time back, but from the "Red" world. People please be aware that there are some service providers who are wait for it.... "selling"... that's right, selling our numbers to these scammers... This now makes punting more harder than before. Be vigilant and sometimes maybe your regular provider might be a safe bet...

I actually got a text from a fake cop at like 2am as well saying they want us to "make money together"... Crazy

You yourself, and nobody else are to blame when you get calls such as this.

Advice has been given on how to prevent this, so if you don't want to listen and learn from others, you must suffer the consequences of your decision.

Plenty of threads about scammers and loads of advice like ,drop the call and block. First rule

Get a punter sim
Get a punter phone

El cheapo phone at pep stores or your nearest Pakistani cellular shop,u can get Sims there too.

Agreed....but the point made here is that some service providers are selling your contact details...

Yikes. Hard on the poor man! He is probably spending his time punting and not reading the forum.

Maybe there is some way ESA can pin a warning on this and the use of a punting phone as the first forum topic and it stays there.

This selling of numbers thing won't stop.

Amd people are falling for the scam,they get conned into believing they'll be paid.
I can imagine how many have received fake cash sends for their effort. That's instant karma lol

Sorry vampire that u have been scammed. To be honest it can be from anyone in this business. But please help me out here. U posted this post as if u have never heard of this before that this is all new to you. Dont u read the post at all on the forum ever?
