Besides telling them to FUCK OFF

They are now looking you up on Facebook/ social media threatening to tell your wife/ partner etc.

WE don't need a SIM card - we can find the device via the IMEDI number. So you would have to throw away your complete handset

So the problem is two fold. The guys paying up creates a market

The root cause is the WG selling the information

Solve those two and problem is gone

So a chap could think that changing his SIM card is safe

Each devise has a International Mobile Identification code

That is how "Find my phone" works

How is the burner sim linked to an IMEI number. Don't understand that part.

Could it be that the original number linked to the IMEI was rika'd and then by inserting the burner it then links as well?

If you using your personal phone with dual sim then yes they could use your imei. But if the phone is standalone not registerd in your name with a contract they can't .

so this information only stands to encourage you all to buy a punting phone. not sure about other areas but I'm in Cape town CBD, and can order a burner phone as well as a SIM card, to be delivered to my place via Uber eats. could arrive in 15 mins, so I will gladly arrange this for any of my clientele who may have fallen prey to these assholes.

Yes get a cheap phone with sim i don't even have WhatsApp installed on it just as that can be traced to your meta account aka Facebook if you have not created a fake profile and you use WhatsApp then would do that too . Best option is old school call from burner phone only the kind of Nokia brick that does not have gps that is what i use.

It likes to link all devices and accounts.

On my burner phone (bought from paki)

I have no Google.
Never mix business with play.

Go into you Google settings, and have a read.
