Don't worry. Most of us have been there. My first attempted punt, it was a lady, when she eventually answered my call she told me that she wanted me to learn a lesson.

I hope it wasn't a lot of money.

The red flag for me is when they mention deposit in their rates to confirm a booking.

I know the next thing they are going to ask is to go buy them Google gift cards from a store they suggest

Boys, if ever there was a punting handbook, then 'Do not pay anything upfront' should be the second cardinal rule. The first one should be, 'always use a punting phone'.

The few bad apples have ruined it for the honest ladies out there.

I'm sorry, please do indepth research before your next booking and at least try minimise your risk.

If there are reviews, inbox the people who wrote them and ask them what you need to know.

Many have written nice reviews and then maybe later changed their mind about the SP but will not update their review in fear of looking like a fool.

The forum members, as far as I've seen are always willing to assist.

This has to be one of the worst things to ever happen when all you wanted was to relax and have a good time! Misterman, I'm sorry, darling.

Some lessons hit hard, especially when it hits your pockets.

Just always keep in mind that when shit like this happens, as bad as it is: it's not on you. You were genuine and gave the SP the benefit of the doubt. Therefore, it's on her! Don't beat yourself about it.

When booking an independent SP(not working from a venue), look out for the following:

1. Reviews (as Jess suggested).
2. Posts on the forum
3. Pictures on personal gallery( active SPs would post there from time to time.
4. Recommendations. Recently, I've been seeing some gents posting on the forum what they are looking for, and area. Try that. I know at times you just want that one lady in particular, but with more that 5000 SPs in JHB, there will always be likeness. Rather safe than sorry. I know this won't happen again because, like you said, school fees paid.

Another day, another lesson learned.

Sorry bud, similar thing happened to me by a well known SP on this platform who kept on messaging me on WhatsApp wanting me to help her pay for stuff and promising a session and each time she would tell me some crazy stories til I got fed up
