I am curious to know if anyone actually even looks at the Advertiser promotions. Personally I just cannot be bothered. Too much of the same becomes nothing special at all. What is your take on it?

Practically spam at this point and I don't look at it all unless I see a familiar name advertising something.

Yes! Yes, I do. In fact I went through it now before looking at the general forum.

10 pages just in the last 24 hours and it's actually very quick. Like a minute.

I categorize and ignore:

Scammers - known scammers get ignored no matter what they say.

Content sellers - known content spammers or anything remotely content related in the heading or subtext immediately gets skipped.

The shit talkers - those that try to say much of nothing everyday get ignored, often I guess talking to themselves or about themselves, hyping themselves up or thinking how smart they are or something, who knows.

Repeaters - those that post the same special or post everyday multiple times a day and there's nothing special about it.

Call me's - those that say some special so call or WhatsApp (probably to get told the regular price)

Fake/misleading specials - Those that have had specials before which sounded great and when you enquire it suddenly excludes xyz or other unsatisfactory T&C's.

You brain learns to ignore these things very fast so at one glance you can skip the whole page of junk and then stop at someone you might actual want to book or a real special. That is why I still check it as once in a blue moon, a gem might have an actual special and I might catch it.

Other times, the false special actually puts you off from someone you was going to book anyway like I was going to drive 70kms/1hr to a supposedly great wg in PTA north for her her all inclusive no extra special which she has almost every day but suddenly on enquiry had like 4 exclusions so it just put me off her all together. Basically false advertising to get you to call before trying to upsell you so once bitten, twice shy.

On the other hand, there been some wgs that are great and I've always wanted to visit but didn't think the asking price as fair and they had genuine all inclusive specials and did deliver great service which really felt special so those are the ones that keep me checking that section.

I look and make an offer. Especially for content. Only if I see it there.

Hardly ever look at it, but have notice some are now using the Venue Review Page to advertise their content / services.

Wonder how long before they will be banned from directly posting there.

I ignore it. If it gets more annoying I will add an adblock rule and just strip it out.

Been going on for years so probably never banned as they have a paid listing.

Too many content "specials". Every now and then I check, maybe go through to page 3 max. Then move on.

Also, as a non white guy, too few of our colourful ladies putting stuff up. There's usually a wall called ROAR when something interesting does come up.

Nah, a rather pointless exercise.

Mostly, it's either tons of content or jhb providers.

The CT ladies never use it and on the odd chance they do, they're on page 10 an hour later because of the volume of ads, so needle in a haystack stuff. Then again, show me CT ladies that are genuinely giving specials...ever?
