Hi something is wrong with your bitcoin payment. It is providing an amount much higher then the normal rates quoted. Please fix so I can get my membership renewed.

We just tried a BTC transaction for R180. The amount quoted was 0.00020954 BTC which is equal to R179.60 as quoted by Electrum Wallet.

Does your wallet separate the actual amount quoted from the on-chain fee that has to be paid? Please note that BTC fees are extremely high right now, and some wallets might add this fee to the quoted price.

We highly recommend that you use Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin transaction fees can be as high as R200, even R300, whereas "Bitcoin Cash" transaction are R0.04. It just works and the fees are what they are supposed to be.

Check your bitcoin payment/processing fee being charged, as this fluctuates depending on how busy the exchanges are. (Don't just check the overall amount)

In any case, you'll find doing the payment with bitcoin cash will have a significantly lower fee.

We asked our development department to look into this and this is what they said:

On 10 Jan 2023 at 9:31 you started a Bitcoin transaction and the system quoted you 0.00034924BTC for a R300 transaction.

0.00034924BTC = R299.09. This is the correct quoted amount.

On 10 Jan 2023 at 9:28 you started a Bitcoin CASH transaction and the system quoted you 0.06613757BCH for a R300 transaction.

0.06613757 BCH = R 299.94. This is the correct quoted amount.

If this is not what you see on your side, please submit screenshots to [Send Message] indicating where the wallet is charging you an incorrect amount.
