How secure is your information when you transfer money into an account. If I were to pay for videos / online service via EFT, would the receiving account be able to find out details from the account that paid into their account?

As much as we respect our privacy. We respect yours too. We don't want to go investigate who you are etc. If I receive a eft I just look at the reference not the name of the sender. A normally it's example A.Van Der Linde no 1st name. So I think you are safe.

@jake it's just the initials and last name that appears if you send a pop. And you can't do much with that too be honest. I don't even look at the name, just the reference

I have done a few eft payment and can not see how it can not be safe. The only thing I think she can find would me my real initial and account number.

doing an eft will reveal the transeferrers initials and surname and a ref nr that was used.. Your account nr ain't displaid in full neither is your full names.

where as the recipient had to supply her/his account nr.

Who is more vulnerable?

Very few ladies would look at anything else but the ref nr and the amount. Because that's all that matters.

I am not saying there will never be someone that tries to extract more info with that info as a starting point. But I am sure it is the exception and not the norm.

I am speaking for myself but I know many others that take this as serious as I do.

Paying via eft requires both transferrer and recipient to be discreet and respect each others personal info.

Are there more anonymous ways of transferring cash/funds online? It is easy enough to buy airtime and you can even buy vouchers for Checkers/Shoprite which would be quite anonymous, but anything closer to cash? E.g. Can you send cash to a phone number and use your own phone number and then just transmit the code to the other party?

Well I would say having your initial and surname known could be problematic. Unless you are known as K. van der Merwe, S. Tshabalala, J. Naidoo or R. September, then there is quite a large pool out there. Or you just stick to the trustworthy ladies here.

P.S. the above names are meant as tongue in cheek, nobody take offense please.
