Punters who are big tippers are making it hard for the rest of Us to enjoy a session without being asked why aren't you tipping me. Before 2026 the last time someone asked me for a tip was back in 2017 when I made my first booking. This year alone I've already got 3 ladies asking "aren't you gonna give me a tip", like what? I ask for a rate, I withdraw money, I pay the rate, then I'm given a shocked reaction and "aren't you gonna give me more?"

I thought a tip is optional. Shouldn't I determine if I wanna tip or not. Why is it a request now?

If they are asking then they are taking chances, give them R10.

But you tip your waitress and the guy washing your window at the petrol station?

@bonganelovejoy you are very right. One girl asked me for a tip I gave her R30 and she said I can't even get breakfast with this money. I replied and said you can get 'amagwinya', she was so angry with that she told me to leave immediately.

Neither of the two get to keep the money for the meal/petrol from patrons, so a tip is understandable.

True. They make like 5 bucks an hour. If a wg charges you 5 bucks an hour, you most definitely tip. Give them that R2 or R5 spare change you got man. Don't be a doos.

I give tips all the time, sometimes it's more meaningful than other times.

Set yourself available on ESA. Is one

Don't do drugs and smoking is bad for you being the other

I gave her the tip and then some. She rather enjoyed it and asked me to give to her again on the next visit

But i dont tip my GP. Or the pilot. Or my bank manager. Because they already earn enough. Most SPs rates are in line with what a GP charges.

Being an SP is a tough profession but it's a highly lucrative one.

They are more like athletes than your average minimum wage employee. There's a reason many SPs that leave for a 9-5 always end up coming back to the industry.

Because it's VERY hard working 8 hour days for R8000 a month when you know you could make that in a week.

My regulars get "tips" in the form of cash advances or sometimes just a genuine donation because there's rapport and trust.

I sleep well at night not tipping random SPs.
