I will tell you what Will Smith did about it just the moment before he stands up to slap Chris Rock. When Chris Rock told the joke Will Smith was laughing at the joke but when he looked at his wife all of the sudden he was angry? Why? Because he laughed at the joke he liked it and he thought it was funny. He slapped Chris Rock because his wife didn't think so. That just shows how much control his wife got over him. She's got him by the balls and probably whips him to sleep every night.

It would have been a funny moment if she also laughed and everybody laughed... But this was obviously something sensitive for her u can't control ur feelings. And him seeing how broken she felt after that joke, made his human instincts kick in and defend his wife.

For those saying he should have addressed the matter privately I say no. His wife was dissed in public - address it right there on the same spot in public. You diss my wife in Pick n Pay I will smack you right there on the spot in Pick n Pay!!!
It's done, you learn not to do so. We move on!
Otherwise the same folks come back here and say so Will carried a petty grudge from the Oscars night and organised a rough up on Chris for shit he said months ago!
Should have punched his front line out actually!

Why are condoning violence against comedians? That's some bullshit. Will smith should've and could've done and what would've been more powerful and actually lauded by everyone, is to get up, go to the stage, kindly ask to say something and point out that mocking someone's health condition isn't cool and isn't comedy. I think that would've resonated with everyone and would've made Chris rock look like the silly one. But nooo he had to go up there and slap Chris Rock. That is a problem we have as a black people. It's the same mentality that allows a black man to shoot another black man at a rap-concert because he looked at him wrong or dissed him. You seriously need to stop excusing bad behavior.

I'm not condoning violence, but in this case it was necessary... Theres no time to have a chitchat sob story at the Oscar's, the show must go on... A slap says a thousand words, so just slap and move on.
Also Jada is fragile bcoz of her condition and probably emotionally weak aswell... Will did wat any manly man/husband/brother would do for his wife/sister/mother(or watever the case may be) if they were in that situation

defending someone such as your partner or siblings and out right hitting someone are two different things though. He waited a moment, then took the time to walk on stage, then hit Chris rock. He had to make an actual effort to hit Chris as opposed to swinging in the moment. Also Chris Rock is a comedian. He was literally paid to get up there and take jabs at the celebs.
