And trying to do moral activity on this site? Really, is that necessary. Are there no worthy takers of charity outisde of ESA? And if it needs to be done, do it discreetly and get over with it. No need to make it sound like the morning prayer on a loudspeaker that quite a lot of the people don't want to hear.

This has nothing to do with Zakhaat, OP just hoping to score brownie points with some WG. Most WGs are doing okay, Im sure if you really wanted to do charity you could find people who deserve it more. Start with family members or immediate community who need it is what i would do.

Well Zakhaat is a religious obligation to donate 2.5% of your income to a muslims in need...so it has a religious qualification for them.

As to why its exclusive to muslims, well thats Islam for you.
