Can definitely relate here. I tried 5 times over the years, chickened out 3 and survived 2 by sheer dumb luck. It's not easy to get right but you know what is harder? Knowing the effect it's likely to have on the near and dear ones left behind. No person is an island.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but when someone is seriously considering removing themselves because they're overwhelmed by their own pain, thoughts of the pain it might inflict on others, is furthest most from their mind.

You people disgust me! You have even forgotten that this post was about something very serious, because you all made it about you and your egos!

I've stayed clear of this post as I would've given my honest opinion on "respecting" someone that committed suicide as they don't deserve respect. It is the most selfish thing a person can do. Ending it and leaving so many loved ones behind with an unbelievable pain that you can't put into words and unanswered questions.

And yes I know this out of experience, because my own mother died right in front of my eyes, 17 years ago on the 4th of December, committing suicide. That year everyone celebrated Christmas and life and I was alone trying to make sense of what happened and why.

To the OP, I know life isn't all we want it to be and there are times when the hole is so dark and deep, that it might seem like your only option, but for your loved one's sake and your own, please talk to someone and find that small thread of hope to grab onto and slowly lift you out if the darkness. I promise when you think about it, you will find something that is worth hanging in there for.

I agree with you, it is indeed furthermost. Factoring in the pain it will inflict on others could deter the OP from another attempt.
