Exactly! It's not...lol yea our politicians are messed up, but hey. Aren't we all corrupt some where ?some how? Lots of married / taken people in this world but still turn to purple world. Isnt that part of corruption too? Lol there's nothing wrong with it, nor am I judging. I'm saying "if you really want to change the country" start within yourself bcz thats how corruption started from small.

But dont be negative and complain, it's too negative. We are too blessed in this country in soo many other ways as the other punter mentioned a few things. Embrace the positive things about SA. it aint thaaaat bad!

Most of us here love our country and ain't going anywhere. This thread was meant to be light hearted and to be able to have a chuckle at ourselves.

Yip middle class expats get a huge shock. I took a light jab at it in this thread (with the cashiers and petrol attendants) but the lifestyle changes go way deeper than that. This thing that we have here where a middle class family can have a big 3+ bedroom house with a swimming pool, an SUV, yearly vacations (in and out the country), maids and gardeners, PUNTING - good luck getting all that elsewhere. Most people can't even own a house in the so called developed world and have to rent.

We're a great country with fantastic people - we've just been cursed with awful governments throughout our entire history. Here's to hoping 2024 serves as a good round of chemo
