If you know a SP is addicted to drugs or alcohol would you still use there services?
Just a ethical dilemma I have faced a few times.

My comment is in relation to the SP's space.
This is a heavy space occupied, no matter what anybody might think. It is demanding on body and mind and yes...spirit.
Some know to navigate it and make it part of their life and enjoy it like any other 'job'.
BUT.
To many it becomes a down spiral of self.
This 'job' does not afford openness, support, understanding and an infra-structure that one could turn to when needed.
A sort of self alienation takes place. Ones social life becomes non-existent and family relations are not as open as they could be.
The abuse does not have to be physical to impact on the psyche. It can be verbal, financial thru short payments or no-shows and false money sends etc etc, behaviour disrespectful and forceful in sessions.
With time that choice made to take the first sniff or first drink because it is considered a social share in a space emotionally charged or it softens the edges of loneliness or other worries or indulging in something becasue it will bring money thru the door becomes a habit, thinking it will be easily controlled.
Sometime back, on this forum, someone asked for prescription drugs for a lady friend and that blew me.
THAT is knowingly enabling someone. THAT is a crime in my eyes.
How does one not enable or, help someone who is visibly spiraling toward self destruction?
Easiest for me is, by not participating or enabling the person by bringing along some drugs or alcohol in the first place if one is aware it might be a problem
and secondly
if one truly worries and has the time...TELL them u care and see they struggling, tell them u see them , ask them " How can i help?"
But.
We know the most favoured answer to that.
It has been given on this thread.
.....it is about sex after all and self gratification and, she is advertising her wares so, what is the issue?
Ps. written without prejudice and out of true care and concern.
