Nobody said anyone can't make the choice about who they see, they can see only purple people for all i care. But their choice tells me a lot about who they are. I'm with Shadowfax, I prefer to see ladies who don't make me sick with their pre-1994 Afriforum views. Even though I firmly believe in their right to hold those disgusting views.

This is the nuance that's missed whenever this topic is broached. Do people here think it's just a coincidence that ROAR always works one way? Has anyone ever seen a black/Indian/coloured SP decline a booking with a white punter solely because he's white? I (white guy) have been punting for almost a decade now and I've never had to worry that my race may prevent me from getting a booking when crossing the colour-line.

Stop being mentally lazy people. Yes, you "have a preference", but interrogate where that preference comes from.

You have every right to your preferences, but your preferences aren't formed in a vacuum - your preferences can be a reflection of your racism, and it's quite obviously the case with ROAR. Kudos to the black gents who are able to handle this with class.

A wise mans words if the criticism hurt you, than it is time for you to reflect deeply and honestly. Because it is only when there is some truth in it will it hurt. Otherwise let it go and move on if it is untrue.

If their is truth in what was said you have no excuse to be angered by it because it was a truth.
If it is untrue than you have no excuse to be angry because it does not apply to you.

Yes because every black person with money, must have gotten it from some corrupt means. And this is the kind of person that is your guiding light in terms of what's racist or not. Yah neh, good luck with your lives.

You are 99% right! The only thing i would add is that i don't believe the nuance is 'missed', I believe it's wilfully ignored.

Everyone thinks they are the 'good guy' in their own personal stories, everyone likes to think they are good/decent people and it's earth shattering when you call a spade a spade and they realize what they really are.

I agree, it is ignored.

I don't think any of these ladies with ROAR would reject Drake if he sent his picture and asked for a booking.

I am not white, so I have experience of being rejected by some of those SPs with ROAR policy, then I just sent my picture and asked them to reconsider me, and I always made it.

We all have a tendency to make excuses, but you will be surprised to know how often the actual problem lies within ourselves.

I can go days and nights debating whether ROAR is racism or not, from both perspectives, I can also go days and nights debating whether it is morally acceptable or not, from both perspectives. There is no single answer. It all comes down to how you define the term "racism" and what is morally right and wrong, all of which are relative/subject concepts.

Let us not waste our time, accept that life is a poes and move on.
