I work for Eskom from home and still need to meet my daily expectations ( although it has reduced since lockdown ) but I would not have too much of an issue if they reduced our pay by 1/3 or in that region. No, I don't get a huge salary, but live according to my needs and have saved up the past few months.
I'll have a problem in that I don't want a pay cut but realistically, I can manage as you, I also live below my means incase shit gets real as it has to have a buffer and saved up. I cut out friends amd parties decades ago when I realized I didn't have much to show from what I earned and started investing in myself and tangible assets.

Here lies the problem that most other countries don't fsce. Virtually impossible to enforce where it's needed most meaning it will keep spreading and the end of lockdown is not in sight until we find a solution to that.

That problem is not COVID19 specific. If it was practiced centuries ago, we wouldn't have poor, homeless, and starvation.
But then there wouldn't be any rich people to start with to throw away food that could feed the hungry and vacant property for the homeless because what's the point of working harder than the next to be equal to the next while they do less or nothing to be the same.
Hell, it's so easy to implement too. Just tax people earning Megabucks 80% and feed and house the poor with it right? Watch how they run. This is nothing to do with COVID19.
