I could not set up a Go Fund Me, as our country, South Africa does not have access to it.

There are South African versions of a Go Fund Me. So once I have gone for the consultation, I will have an exact idea of what the costs involved are and I want this process to be as transparent and open with everyone interested.

It's taken me so long just to get an appointment with the surgeon who specializes in Gender Reconstructive Surgery, which is why I have only posted again now.

Once I have met with this surgeon, I will create the alternative SA version of a Go Fund Me and post.

Today I met with Dr. Surrier in Rosebank for the consultation regarding my surgery.

I was ecstatic that I finally made it to this appointment, as I had to wait a while just to secure the appointment.

What a lovely surgeon, who really knows how to engage and make a person feel good. He was warm and incredibly considerate.

I left feeling on top of the world, after having discussed how the procedure works and being told that I have lovely pec muscles, so my surgery should not be that complicated.

However, when I returned back to Hyde Park and received the quotation via email, I was not in the least bit surprised at that figure (I have done extensive research and knew what kind of figure I would be looking at).

So here it is guys:

R77450 and let's not forget that I took out R1450 for today's consultation. Plus I have to go for bloods at an endocrinologist every few months to check my testosterone levels and see if there is any damage or harm done to me. Plus the script for testosterone and the purchase of it. As well as getting a weekly shot done.

So aside from my extensive medical bills, staying afloat Month to month. Life is pretty costly at the moment.

With that being said, I have created a Back a Buddy fundraiser and I will post my motivational letter on this thread.

I need to add all medical documentation to the fundraiser. Once all of this has been finalized i will share all details as well.

I was concerned about this, as there is the possibility or revealing my personal identity and not my stage name.

But I have created a business account which does not reveal my personal identity.

However, I will go see if I can create another account that is directly related to raising funds for this surgery, that I can link to my Back a Buddy Fundraiser.

So here are the finer details

To those of you who continue to send messages of love and support, who are following my journey, thank you so so much.

This is my Back a Buddy motivational letter, which I need to edit, as I have now met with Dr. Surrier:

My stage name is Raphael, I am a transman in the sensual and alternative healing space.


I have used this space to try create awareness and more inclusivity within a world that is predominantly hetereonormative and promotes only cisgender stereotypes. I am also using this space to try and raise funds towards my surgery.


You may wonder what is a transman if you have not heard the term before. To put it to you in layman's terms, it means that I do not identify with the sex that I was assigned at birth.


I was born with a female anatomy, but I identify as male.


Some transgender people make use of hormonal treatments and gender reconstructive surgery to aid with dysphoria. But NOT all trans people choose to have treatment or surgery and they are still valid.


My personal journey is that I would love to have "top surgery." Top surgery is a term used for breast removal or gender reassignment surgery that relates to breast removal.


I am happy with downstairs but I have ongoing dysphoria because of my chest (breast tissue).


I have come a long way in terms of my mental health. There was a stage of my life that I had put my body through a tremendous amount of harm, as I would use cellotape to bind down my chest which has caused ongoing back problems.I did this every single day for 13 years.


I now use a binder, which I have designed and created myself. But for a long time I could not break away from my old habits of self harm.


It took love and support from others, which I had only found within this industry, to encourage me to love my body as it is, even though I don't identify with it.


Now I am asking for the same love and support to help me accomplish not just my dream, but my human right of being as comfortable as possible, to be my most authentic self and in alignment with the man that I am.


I am meeting with Dr. Surrier, a plastic surgeon who specializes in gender reassignment surgery to get a consultation on the funds needed to have this procedure done.


I have done research and I am looking at about 60k to 80k to have top surgery.


Any donation, no matter how small would be much appreciated and would literally change my life.


My heart overflows with gratitude for the support I have received so far through kind words and supporting my business.


Please note I am willing to work for this as well through massage and I am not looking for a hand out, but a hand up.

MY LATEST PHOTOSET:

Yesterday, I did the most revealing photoshoot since I have been in the sensual space. I have had nudes taken of me before, which are strictly for purchase and part of my Online Content. But I have never showcased anything so revealing on a public platform before.

I decided to be bold and reveal my chest (breasts). I wanted to make a statement that my body does not define me and that I am still a man.

The thing that long haunted me and debilitated most of my life, will no longer consume me.

As already mentioned, I recently went for a consultation with a plastic surgeon, who specializes in top surgery and gender reconstructive surgery. I was over the moon that I finally secured a consult. However, I left feeling rather overwhelmed by the figure that I have to raise... top surgery is going to cost close to 80k.

So I decided that this last photoshoot would be bold and hopefully, allow others a safe space to do the same. We shouldn't have to live in anxiety or in shame. Even if we don't identify with our bodies.

I have no idea how I'm going to raise the funds for this surgery, but I choose to remain positive and have an attitude of abundance.

I am Divinely Guided at all times and my Sagittarius spirit, is about expansion and abundance.

May I always remain humble and not allow my human to rule me, but my Soul to guide me and for my soul to shine through in everything that I do.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has shown support and for accepting me as I am. Also thank you to those who can see beyond my flesh, yet still appreciate my flesh as it is.
