Then there's antidepressants and many people, especially women, take them, my missus included. One major side effect is that it kills any sex drive stone dead.
If you are single my advice is to keep it that way, and if you do click with someone, then live apart together, meaning you both keep your independence. Should things not work out it'll be easier to split and move on.
To answer the question how much is enough: in my experience in a more settled healthy relationship 2 - 4 times a week, once kids come into the equation that obviously becomes less due to the realities that go with it, but still more than weekly. You'd be a dick to not take that into account.
Having said that when weeks of no sex turn into months of no sex and then years, then there's a serious problem.
