There have been times when I've booked into somewhere and it has turned out to be far less decent than I expected, but even then I make sure it's clean and try spruce it up a bit somehow.

Nothing weird at all. Statistically speaking,vthst just confirms that price and tier make no difference in predicting better hygiene.
So basically basically if you had done all premium punts, you would have had the same number of pigs so your wastage and buyers remorse would have been higher so in a way, you should be glad you did more cheaper punts.
