I also don't think calling punters idiots is necessary this problem is real and in the moment you get the call it isn't pleasant and no one asked for it.

Rather be upset that ladies are selling because this will chase clientele away from all honest ladies as well because we'll stop punting if it means everytime you punt you're going to get harassed.

I made various calls to SP's over the past week in the Moot area and Centurion. I never actually visited any, as my meetings were running late.

Today I got a call from a 078 cell number, claiming to be a police officer. A Colonel no less.

After a long story he basically said a SP accused me of rape. What do I want to do about it? He was fishing for a bribe. I could hear a Police Radio in the background, and more worrying, he knew my name. He said the Police already verified I called the lady by getting my cell records from Vodacom.


I told him I would come to the Police station he claimed he was from, and make a statement, and seeing as he has my cell records, he should know that my phone was not close to any SP I phoned.

He said I would be arrested on sight.

I said I could also prove I wasn't there by showing my insurance location tracking info of my car. He said it wouldn't help.

In the end he said I will be arrested soon, after I kept on insisting to meet him at the said station and make a statemnt.

There are obvious signs in my story that this is a scam.

What worries me is he knew my name. And no, I am not listed anywhere like true caller/ Facebook etc to link my name to my number.

I know I should get a punter phone.

Any comments? Advice? Tips?

First tip, delete this profile as it will get you banned for having two, which you've admitted to.

Secondly, block his and any other number who calls you with such claims.

Lastly, as another punter mentioned, your name can still be found on Truecaller based on what other people have saved your number as. Why would you call any SP from your personal number anyway? Get a burner sim.

Was chatting to a friend/ customer at SAPS the other day about this

Keep them on the line for as long as possible, tell them you have to move outside and put them on hold, ask questions

See how long their airtime lasts

I think I have said this before but this work has not been decriminalized so how would someone be able to lay a charge/ complaint about it??

Also I always say I have bad network please SMS so that you have all the evidence in black and white as these people will get into huge huge major trouble including the SP for using the South African saps badge to harass intimidate and bribe people well the general public at least

The sp is 'supposedly' admitting to receiving money for sexual favors... there we go handcuffs

If you did not, and by the sounds of it you know who the girl is who "opened this case", as you said you can prove you weren't close to this girl at the time meaning you know where she is and where you were, then just block and ignore.

If this officer told you he called from this or that station, lawyer up and go there.
