Dear ESA admin and others

I was contacted by an advertiser today - I trust the lady a lot as she has proved her reliability to me on a number of occasions - she told me to beware that some girls were giving clients numbers to blackmailers in return for cash.

Personally i have never been contacted but this seems serious to me and in a way a threat to the very existence of ESA

SPs should be advised that being party to extortion is a serious crime - it would be good if ESA could somehow get to the bottom of this

The vast majority of SPs should also see the few who sell their clients as a threat to their own livelihoods

Happened to me this week. Second time now, same MO. They claim I paid in counterfeit and the lady laid a charge of rape. They even had background sounds that seem to place them in a call center or radio room. Guy claimed to be Captain John van Zyl. I blew him off saying I would gladly meet at the station. Got a second call later which Truecaller identified as Fake SAPS. After my first encounter in 2020 I immediately knew it was BS. And to put fellow punter's mind at ease, you know you did not pay in counterfeit, and even if the ATM somehow served up counterfeit, at the worst, if it is legit, it will be a fraud case. If a transaction took place, even with counterfeit it is consensual at that moment.

The area in question is in the East Rand.
