I have to share.
On Sunday listening to feedback of a few that made a journey down to the Eastern Cape looking to address youngsters in schools and share the Good Word.
3 schools were visited.
In one school it was scholars upto grade 8.
Here comes the heartbreak...
64 students have taken their own lives so far IN THIS YEAR ALONE DUE TO CYBER BULLYING AND BULLYING IN SCHOOL.
This tacit acceptance by society. This belief not to address bullying and the idiocy of saying if not mentioned and addressed, it will go away.
Tragically laughable.
In this case...
It all starts at home.
Recognise the signs in your younglings that are concerning.
DON'T be frightened to be vocal.
Be diligent in getting to the root cause of the anguish or change displayed.
Remember.
Knee jerk reactions can be stopped with a little care and interest shown.
That overwhelming feeling that one is alone, maybe feeling embarrassment unnecessary, maybe being blackmailed....understood instead of ignored or judged by YOU , will save a life....a most loved and dear life. The Devastating sadness on those left behind a bully does not care about nor will have sleepless nights.
Be PROACTIVE.
Even on a site like this.
NEVER EVER bow down to a bully.
I can take you a bet it is a mouse of a coward that finds power in being anonymous.
Let's unite and make bullying an abnormality rather than a norm.
Going back to the 64 children that took their lives in this year alone... that means approximately 12 kids taking their own lives every month.
My heart breaks.
