We just had an industrial council meeting

"Ja but most people don't drive cars"

How do think that the bread, maize, chicken etc. gets to the shops

Not sure about maize and bread, but chickens walk there.

As the one cAncer minister have said, no need to worry about farmers and their cattle, we can buy milk at the shops.

We have a lot to be grateful for...

Imagine bombs falling around you
Loosing everything you have
Running for your life
Nowhere to go
Stayin in bombshelters
Your neighbors, killed daughters raped
Destruction everywhere you look

Imagine waking up without needing any medication to start your day to feel "normal"

To own a car
To have a job
To have family that loves you
To have food
To have a roof over your head
To have friends
To walk
To see
To smell
To laugh

Imagine having no family or friends living in an orphanage
Years go by
No family adopts you
Rejected, hated, thrown away

To see a sunrise...
To watch a bird fly in the sky
To get a hug from your therapist
To smile at stranger standing at a robot

This purple world is a priveledge

To have internet to chat on this forum is a priveledge

Dunno if everyone knows the story about Racheltjie de Beer

She froze to death covering her brothers body with her own body heat and he survived

My thought today was
Did she do it because of a selfless act of love or did she do it because she didnt wanna see his lifeless body decomposing next to her the next day

My grade 9 year in History class my teacher introduced herself by telling this story.

She was a very scary teacher. Very strict. Very scary.

She told us this...and used the story as an analogy of how she expects us to behave in her class.

Point being of the story... "don't be brave or you'll die."

Ill never forget that.

On the brighter side:

For the first time in 27 years South Africa's Inflation Rate (5.9%) is lower the that of the United States (8.1%). This is one reason our Rand is remaining fairly stable against our major trading currencies. Further to this Commodity prices are still remaining quite high which is also helping. The Oil price - which is driving the fuel price - is a function mainly due to the Russian/Ukraine conflict. Also this month the levy is coming back after three months of leeway.

We might be getting hit by a 1,5% interest rate hike but think of the Yanks who are also getting hit more than likely by a 1.5 to 1.75% raise but off a base of 1% OUCH!!!

So in my opinion - there are worst places to live
