Yes, you are absolutely right on the money.

When a review is approved and posted, it is not only done by humans but also by AI, which does not only look at the review itself but also considers other numerous factors such as past access/login history of the same IP in comparison with the advertiser's account and so on. It is very difficult to beat AI consistently for this reason if an advertiser tries to review herself. Also, in order to benefit from self-reviewing, an advertiser would often have to write multiple self-reviews, then it becomes almost impossible to beat AI.

So when a review written by a new account is approved and posted, then it is more likely that the reviewer had previously accessed the ESA website multiple times (as you can still access the SPs' details, and read forums and reviews without having an account) and created the account for the purpose of writing a review (which is exactly my case).

Since even one bad review can damage an advertiser's reputation, ESA already has a policy to remove bad reviews if the advertiser reports them as fake and obviously AI will also do its work to check whether it was a malicious stunt by some other users and so on.

So ESA indeed have effective systems to screen out fake reviews and I agree with you that every review holds weight. It is bloody difficult to consistently beat AI.

I completely agree with what you said.

Nowadays obtaining and utilising valuable information is such an important part of our lives, often separating the winners from the losers in many professional fields. I think the same logic can also apply here in ESA, it is just irrational to completely discard freely available information verified by AI owing to one's intuition. Yes, we have been taught to always question everything, but when a company employs an IT specialist that checks reviews using AI based on massive data of 10+ years where the response variable is binary Y/N, I would definitely think again before believing in my intuition.
