True. and its very very hard for them to prove something illegal went down - unless they somehow actually catch you handing over money and explicitly saying "this is for sex", because sex between consenting adults is legal, and handing someone money (or paying someone for their time) is legal but combining them into a single transaction somehow isn't. So they have to prove that those two things weren't just independent actions.

But it doesn't mean they can't fuck up your life. Especially if you are married, or in a career where your reputation matters. Which suits the cops fine, because they aren't interested in an actual conviction, they're interested in an opportunity for extortion. Or in this case a PR stunt.

That is exactly it JP82 and were the problem lies. They don't have a concern for upholding the law, it's just about lining their pockets or getting fake with no regard for the damage they will do to another and probably the whole families lives. In that sense, they are just as guilty as those fake cop scammers literally doing the same thing but they are actually real cops.
