Single dad. Mum left us when he was 2 months, post partum. The first fever I freaked out but somehow I knew if it was serious or not. I still have that 'knowing' and I trust it. He's 6 years old on Wednesday and we're still fine!!!! He goes to grandpa sometimes and that's when in here on ESA to still just be a man....no time for relationships.... He's my world.

With my daughter - she was bullied in high school.A small pvt school where one did not have a choice of friends. A jail cell nearly became my destination for it took quite a few to stop me from breaking a few parents and 'teachers' heads.
I felt as if i had failed her. We went to therapy together so that i could understand her better and know to help her and myself too.
With my son - a party animal running around with rich brats from his private school knocking on the door of taking drugs and becoming an alcoholic. When the signs began to show there was no sweeping it under the carpet and forbade him his friends, threatened to have him locked up and kept him under "lock and key", again therapy sessions for the both of us...to understand how to help him and help myself too.
They both wiser people now and adults in their own right. Both university graduates.
Both working and making huge inroads in their fields of profession.
The heart does ache and the tears do know to flow but, one things is for sure....i love them unconditionally and looking at them now, i know i did not do a bad job after all. There is no regret, no matter what.
RB.

The joys of parenthood, being a single mother is honestly tougher than it seems especially with 3 teenagers.
I have my son, who's head is screwed on right. He is on the straight and narrow, a gamer and geek/nerd, yet at times loses his temper with me. Still I love him with all my heart
Then my daughter, the one who gives me such a hard time, worshipping the ground her father walks on even though he is absent and only present when it suits him. Constantly I get the rolled eyes, the "I hate you" and "you're too strict" the temper and attitude. Never appreciates anything I do for her, believe me she shows it the little rebel. Yet I continue to love her and do all I can for her even though in her eyes I deserve "worst mom of the year" award
Then my youngest one, sets high standards for herself. Very responsible and willing to help where possible. The one that cooks, cleans and can knit and crochet. My little perfectionist
All in all I think I'm doing a pretty damn good job raising them on my own, being strong in front of them, yet weak when I'm alone. Three very different personalities, yet all three my flesh and blood.
Do I have regrets? None just wished their fathers were more active and present in their lives
