I would agree with 1.5 million positive cases. But I think 99,9% of those that are getting very sick has been counted in the 5000. Hence you have 1,495 000 with very mild or no symptoms.
As I doubt anyone really sick would not have come forward to get help.

And that's the exaggeration about this virus. Because the death rate is probably closer to 103 out of a 1,5 million than 103 out of 5000.

I am not really saying it as low as 103/1.5 million, but that's probably closer to the truth than 103/5000.

About 3 days ago they had done close to 6 million screenings, of which almost 42 000 were referred for testing. And at that stage about 168 000 tests were done in total, yesterday we were at 197 000. So with above stats in mind, we are at about 5000 confirmed cases currently, of which over 2000 have recovered, and 103 deaths. Yes, there is a delay in these stats by a few days.

That's fantastically low stats, but where are they testing currently?

That is surprisingly difficult to find. They only release total daily tests done, and not by area/province. Unless I can't find it.

I would think the tests are skewed towards those they suspect of having at risk. That's what I would have done, if I were Government.

Nah, they're screening and questioning first and only send you for tests if they actually believe there's a possibility you may have it so it is skewed towards the more likely infected. Not enough tests or capacity around to test everyone at will and in good time so they have to do that.

I also would like to believe that screenings is done first in areas where there are confirmed cases.

But we have seen when roll out started with screening it was directed at very overly dence population areas first.

And the thinking behind that i do understand too because those areas are at a higher risk of spreading it faster amongst the population of that area should there be anyone that has it that does not realize they have it.

Yeah, so I think yesterdays press conferences by government finally opened some eyes. This is not about curbing the spread of a virus, this is about controlling the populace, communist-style, with regulations in place draconian and utterly ridiculous.

Proof of this: The informal settlements are not in lockdown, so why are the people there not dropping like flies? The answer.... this is nothing but yet another flu strain, and everybody's immune systems are treating it exactly like the common flu.
