Damn, I was actually thinking about posting something for dry needling. I feel like my glutes are really really tight and I feel awkward going to a Physio and asking if they can needle my arse and thighs.
Unfortunately I stay in Pretoria, not sure if you'll be visiting that area any time soon?
Profuse apologies on a tardy response.
Only saw your post now.
No reason to not query with your physio dry needling areas that you feel may need attention.
The glute muscle is one of the areas that benefits greatly in assisting with upper and lower flexibility.
Plus the needles used are specific in length to target the glute muscle in order to slide the needle deep enough targeting the "core" of the muscle.
As to your quads too.
Just a point of reference.
Dry needling targets pressure /trigger points.
Your physio will NOT practice acupuncture.
Acupuncture in turn targets not only pressure/ trigger points BUT looks to detox through cleansing your energy flow too.
The needles are no different and the insertion is no different.
It is NOT about breaking skin but, to slide the needle between the pores targeting points affecting mobility, flexibility and assisting with aches and pains.
The outcome looked for, potentially is different.
I work with sports people, people with various medical issues and am referred to by various physios as your post care go to in cases where required.
No. I do not travel to Pretoria but I do look fwd to you and anybody else who requires assistance when it comes to mind and body wellness which is neither intrusive nor invasive .
