Oh, how I wish life could enable us cross paths again.
The year was 1994. It was the most scariest time if my life. Grade 1 in a school at the other end of the city far from where I built catapults from toy planks and wooden blocks in preschool at a different primary. A new surrounding, a new atmosphere with so many more new faces and characters. It was traumatic.
But there she was, the most quiet girl in class. The most prettiest girl in the whole world. So pretty that everyone stared at her, boys and girls alike. None of us could easily remove our gaze away from her, none of us. This classmate was so beautiful that our teacher kept having to shout at the ENTIRE class: "Stop looking at her!" Miss/Mrs whatever her name was had to shout those words almost everyday that whole year and that's how gorgeous my classmate was.
I never saw her again after that year and I can't remember what she looked like or what her name is but I am glad that the thought of her surfaces every seven years or so. I still can't believe that I witnessed such beauty, a beauty that I've always searched for thereafter in person, magazines, television and the internet yet there is no beauty in this world that I could find that could come close to hers.
