The bit that irks me is that he actually laughed at the joke initially till he saw his wife wasn't laughing then he had to puff up his chest and get all violent. Not that a slap is all that violent but when you are a figure that millions of kids who can so easily fall into violence look up to, your actions carry a bit more responsibility.

Quiet silly in the bigger scheme of things..

A night that should have been remembered for his first (and surely now last) Oscar win, the pinnacle of any acting career, has completely been overshadowed by his very own uncontrolled behavior. Something he will regret for the rest of his life. History will be on the side of Chris Rock on this one.

Totally agree with you. He over reacted.

And he actually made it worse because now he is trending for the wrong reasons

I respect him for defending the love of his life's honour (in his eyes), whether it was right or wrong. He had the balls to pk a mf in front of the whole world. It came from a place of love for his wife.
And! What a moving acceptance speech!

Oprah's people are already probably already in contact with Will's people (that woman misses nothing) for a sit down interview on how this can be turned around into a positive story for Will and Jada.

I was pissed off at both of them. Will would have made more of a statement by not laughing and maybe just giving him the finger. Chris should know better, esp after making the doccie Good Hair.
