I know this might seem like the wrong place to be asking this but I believe there are veterans here who have quit the game.
I have been punting for 10 years. I desperately want to quit. It's become a habit. I don't enjoy punting but it just feels like something pulls me to it.
How can I stop punting?

As the urge to make a booking hits you.....and before you make the call.....go have a wank...it works for a while.

Post nut clarity is a real thing, so wank wank and wank some more.
Get a GF but don't marry her, then keep having sex that way.

Probably try to unpack whatever it is you're using punting as medicine for.
You'll find that there are issues you're not dealing with, instead you're chasing the high of a punt (like drugs) and now you're accustomed to the high so it's not giving you the juice that it used to.

Find other stuff to keep you busy like hobbies or social things with your friends.
I'm an addict too. Was supposed to be on a detox for a month but didn't last one day. However, I've had some busy weekends etc and couldn't even think of punting while I was too busy doing other stuff.

I agree with N4P too I'm a addict. After considering my punting budget decrease rapidly over the last year or so, I've tried quiting but it doesn't work. Sometimes I just log on to see the updates, then get the urge to visit again ND that's how it goes.

Exercise or find another hobby.
Post nut clarity helps.
If it affects you very badly join an SAA group or SLA group. It's 12 step programs.
I reccomend giving Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions by Russel Brand a read.

I certainly ain't no veteran in this game, but what I would suggest after you decide not to go ahead with the punt, is to put that money aside and after a few months when you realise how much you've saved, it will just make it that much easier to resist.

Or I'll just have a whole load of cash to go and have a good few punts.
OK so enough being a negative Nelly.
Take the money and stick it in a short term deposit and see how much extra you can make not punting.
I did that when I cut down on buying coffee and snacks at work and I saved R1k a month. The profits from investing are rather nice.
