Did post something similar on the #JustSaying thread !
An example ! A few days ago a thread, "Two days to go" was started, which continued into the weekend and beyond, where punters, advertisers and readers in general were subjected to a social media, "twitter/whatsapp" type of a blow by blow account of the adventures of a couple of advertisers, which then spread to the creation of a few other threads pertaining to this night out.
Like a good boy, and as "instructed" by the senior members here and others, I tried avoiding and skipping these threads but one doesn't always connect their new threads to the that evening, which was shared here in detail, resulting in me not paying much attention to the forum, (and even missing a post by a new advertiser in Cape Town, who would have suited my whereabouts at the time).
I remember a year or two ago, we had a similar scenario where the mixit/facebook social media ramblings on where outed after a few complainants were intimidated and even threatened (sound familiar?) by the participants.
I know I'm going to get a lot of flak but no worries on my part, I'm a big boy and am entitled to my opinions and don't need to curry favour from anyone.

Is it just me or is this not making sense ?

Assuming this is about the ladies pampering jol then how did they cause you to miss a new advertiser ?
They were on the forum, new advertisers are on the ESA homepage and on the Cape Town location, and the search function, and can found without going near the forum ?

Even if the new Cape Town lady was mentioning a special or new location on the forum it isn't that much of a problem.
The amount of effort required to look into a thread and see if it's not for you is also minuscule so I just don't get the perceived aggravation level either. It takes less then 5 minutes to go through the new threads and responses.

I am confused about the goal of your post ?

In my experience, Cape Town ladies don't often advertise as available now.

There are (un)intended consequences that affect other advertisers as well.
An advertiser, new or otherwise, posts her specials or availability on the forum, which has a number of these twitter/whatsapp threads relating to one another and there it gets lost or missed by punters who are now skipping, avoiding and skipping through the current threads and even the forum.
I remember the last time this was discussed, someone suggested a "frivolous exchanges" section.
Obviously ESA has the final say and hopefully this can be addressed.

Ah well, if you are the one who is skipping or avoiding threads then it is your responsibility.

Or perhaps you should try and get ESA to enforce that any lady who posts a special do it in the same place that Devine, HoE, etc all do theirs. Or possibly ask that a special's category be added.

A general discussion should be in the general discussion area and that's exactly where the general discussion about the ladies pamper party was....

This was exclusively a "ladies only" event, so why not post it on the exclusively "ladies only" forum (if they allow this 3 day twitter/whatsapp exchange) ?
I have sent ESA a PM and asked them to advise.
I just feel that other advertisers are being disadvantaged by a handful of high-profile ladies, who have swamped the general discussion forum with this sort of twitter/whatsapp stuff (which in my opinion, shouldn't be there), resulting in the dilution of the presence/profiles of many other advertisers, as a result.

Note sure I agree with you there squire. I have noticed that this forum tends to be plagued by this sort of twitter style updates stuff periodically. People complain about it, it dies down for a while, and it comes back. It's the herpes of ESA.

I do agree that since it was a ladies only thing it should have been on a ladies only forum. I also don't think its fair to say to people "if you dont like it don't read it" for a number of reasons. First, you have to actually read it to know if you don't like it. Second, just because something is marked as a "General discussion" doesn't mean that absolutely everything under the sun is fair game. Organising a social that everyone can attend? Fair enough. 2 or 3 ladies planning an evening out alone? Use PM. Do we really need to know the shape and texture of your bowel movements? No? Well if you can exclude that from "General" discussion, one can just as easily exclude these other forms of excrement :)

I concur honeybear, I don't think I need to elaborate. I deliberately kept up the exchange with said ladies to try and understand where they are coming from, but it seems its more of a clique thing rather than a marketing strategy which I would have understood.
