I know times are tough for everyone, but this is just a plain stupid request from him.

Gosh if he's so concerned about R130 he shouldn't be punting at ALL. Bad monkey. No banana.

I agree with lanavol. 26 visits at R 600 a pop? You have earned R 15 600 from him. The R 130 is like less than a percentage. Even if it's an odd request, loyalty discounts work. It will make him feel like a regular.
Or don't. "Your body, your rules" ta daaa

Someone mentioned that the punting industry has gone from bad to worse in the last few years , when you start seeing posts like these you begin to wonder if his words ring true...

While I agree with the principle that lanavol and Crave are pointing out, I think such a discount should be *offered*, not haggled over or asked for. It shows no class.

Apparently some of you haven't owned businesses.

What is his lifetime value to you, in other words the ongoing revenue stream?

Is he likely to still visit you?

How difficult is it to replace him with as good a client?

Give him the discount but make it seem like it's your pleasure.

Then monitor the situation. If you feel that the revenue stream may be in jeopardy, due to lack of funds, and there are repeated requests for discounts, then cut the relationship.

It's not personal just business, so don't let the email upset you despite it being classless.
