I am sitting in my little space reading. Insomnia has kicked in again;)

Outside I can still hear cars driving up and down with music playing loudly.

There is people still walking on side walk obviously under the influence by the sound of them.

What is it that drives people to blatantly disregard rules put in place to save us all?

Why are S.A. CITIZENS so undisciplined,uncaring,and down right stupid?

If the government responds properly to this - I.e with corrective force and action - then we could see a complete change in SA's discipline and character.

This is what interests me most about this - it could set a long term precedent *if* the state can assert itself.

I'm also up with the worst insomnia, but I feel groggy.

U do know that if people do not willingly comply and it gets to point where state has to assert itself it is gonna be chaos?

It will put all other conflicts in S.A. to shame..

Sometimes just switching off all lights including the phone helps me to eventually get some shut eye. ;)

There is a distrust of police and military.. Adding to the fact that they are ill prepared.. Out of resources... And incompetent.. It would be chaos if they try to use force. It may work in the leafy suburbs but surely not in a township. Here they would be stoned.

Just see what happened to the military when patrolling the cape flats due to the gangs.

Discipline is the key as I posted yesterday. China, Singapore and Taiwan have led by example.

As of my Italiano friends, PERSONE in Italia were never disciplined.

Check this: Italy is a country known for a lot of physical contact between people. Americans value their space and don't like being touched (or even standing near) strangers, aquaintances, or even certain family members. Italians, on the other hand, commonly greet each other by kissing on the cheek, usually with a hand landing somewhere; and they have fewer problems with personal space than people further North and West (this is common in the Mediterranean in general).

On top of that, COVID-19 sometimes has no symptoms in healthy people. This means that a person can get accidentally infected by someone who thinks they aren't sick, and then they can infect other people because they think they aren't sick either... Or maybe someone feels a little "down" for a couple of days with a cough, but then it clears up and they feel great so they go visit a friend - after all, there are tons of minor viruses that can make you feel crummy for a day or two and it isn't worth worrying about. And on it goes, all while these people are kissing cheeks, touching hands to others, standing too close, NOT WASHING THEIR HANDS AFTER USING THE RESTROOM, OR LEAVING THEIR HOUSE, OR AFTER COMING HOME FROM A PUBLIC PLACE... Across a whole country of people living in close quarters, on a continent that at the time thought they were far away from the danger zones near China.

Just today I was washing my hands in a public restroom, and in the one minute I was at the sink, several people walked out without washing their hands after using the toilet. Sorry ladies - some of you are just nasty, I don't care how cute your outfit is or whether you think no one was watching. There is a community-spread COVID-19 outbreak happening just a few hours away from my city, and here we have people touching dirty surfaces, their faces, their bodies, without cleaning their hands - in a grocery store, where they will be handling all sorts of food items they don't end up buying. If one of those women is infected without realizing it, she could be spreading it around the city for weeks before anyone knew. And if she puts her hand on her grandmother to kiss her cheek when she goes for a visit? She may as well just sign her death warrant.

Just saw a video clip of a huge group off people chanting a corona song dancing in the street. Parting like it is new years eve.( hopefully it is a old clip and not from last night. We all know people will use old stuff Just to stir up a reaction)

Here the street traffic is quieter than usual but still a lot of cars driving past here. No pedestrian traffic though.

That clip is from Cape town, it was taken this weekend I think at one of the varsities if I'm not mistaken
