Their prices are correct. The laws of supply and demand regulates the pricing. If they are charging R1,200 it is because they are getting customers that are willing to pay that price. If nobody was prepared to pay R1,200 then they would reduce their price.

I don't think it's our place to dictate someone's prices. I haven't punted in quite a while but I do know how much I am willing to pay. And if it falls within someone's rate, then great but if I am under, then that's okay too.

I tend to agree price are a little bit on the high side .But also coming from the venues side they also get a cut out of the bookings it can sometimes go up to 50% of the booking. Ladies that work alone sometimes has a better rate .

If their prices are too high, maybe YOU are not their target market.
I always compare to the Paki hair salons. They do not do fancy colours and highlights or balyage or Brazilian or keratin/botox (for hair)treatments. But they can give an excellent blow without even needing to flatiron. They can blow any type of hair and it comes out smooth and straight, no frizz and the look lasts for several days. Their barbers are the best though and beat any other barbers hands down. Now I have been to high end salons and came away with my hair looking worse than if I had done it myself. I do not need all the fancy services Carlton hair offers. I mix my own diy treatments which are tailor made for my hair. I am allergic to all those high end hair colours and am not into fancy hair colours either. So I stick to the Paki barbershops and salons because it serves my needs nd the results are good. The Paki salons cater for people who want a good, plain blow or style without all the fancy hoo-haa. Carlton hair caters for the person who wants all the latest styling and techniques and although my hair didn't look nice after they did it, there are others who look awesome ..... I may not always think it looked worth what they paid, but my opinion is irrelevant.
Neither one is better than the other, it depends what you want.
They appeal to different market and different price ranges. Carlton hair is not gonna drop their rates cos I can't afford it. Frankly, they don't need me. There are enough women to keep them in business at the price they charge.

Like I said in a previous post you can post what ever you like and I for one am so glad you did because this is how you feel and the rest will follow and give their opinions.

However this is what I do if I feel your price is to high I just move on and look for someone else that fits my pocket.

I agree just move along

I always punt in my area because the stress of travelling and hours on the road does not make it worthwhile saving the couple of rands

If I have a meeting or work in the so called cheaper area then I try and arrange a punt with work together if that is possible

Then you'd die when you find out what mine are. I cater to a certain type of client.
