The style of posting (SP/Punter) is very similar to normal chat/telephone mannerism/general interactive etiquette. As such is highly reflective of a person's "default" character.
I am not a sociologist but I want to believe it would be hard to extract a totally opposite character in person from the version you see on here. Those who end up banned are banned for a reason. Respecting set rules and others' limits/opinions respectfully is general good behaviour (not even an ESA thing).
SPs who are ladies on here in how they handle criticism and personal attacks tend to be actual ladies in person. Gents who post as gentlemen on here tend to be reasonably level-headed okes (at least when I exchange notes with them in PMs).

This is a biggie for me as well. Also, and this never used to bother me mind you, heavy smokers. I taste that stale smoke everywhere. So these days my time goes more towards the ladies that are obviously health conscious and take care of themselves.
