If you or one of your colleagues has been sexually assaulted, why would you make the situation about money instead of the laying a charge with SAPS?

The facts might be distorted, but I have just come across a chain of messages online between what appears to be a lady who advertises on here and a punter.

Like I said, the facts might be distorted, but the messages sent shivers down my spine since we regard ESA as one of the safer options to try weed out the bad apples.

I see that the trail of messages has now been deleted but in summary, here's the story the trail tells:

3 ladies were invited for drinks by 3/4 gentlemen at what I assume is an AirBnb. The following day the one lady demands money from one of the men because entertainment does not come for free.

He appears a bit surprised at the demand for money because he bought the ladies alcohol and according to him there was never a discussion that money was going to be exchanged for sex. She alleges that one of the ladies was raped because she was black out drunk and some of the guys proceeded to have sex with her.

She further alleges that the man she's exchanging messages with tried to "bribe" them with a R1000.00.

The last trail is a demand for money failing which they will lay a criminal charge with the police.

Just for clarity, my initial post is not intended to imply that all the ladies who advertise on here behave in such a manner, but I was a bit shocked to see that there are ladies on here who would conduct themselves this way, especially given the statistics of rape and acts of violence against women in this country.

That's the issue.

Many invitations to socialise have been received form various punters

Very VERY few, I have even considered.

Two reasons.

Expectations, even after communication is had. Seems drinks make a difference? I wonder why ...or that 420 blow or that that line of white....

Company kept and here I mean punters, does not mean privacy and discretion is guaranteed.

Privacy a d discretion for me is AMEN.

Marring those boundaries and claiming "friendship" all of a sudden is laughable.

Just proof that 99.9% of people on this site have no idea what friendship is.

Now....if one referred to acquaintances, that could hold water.

Because it seems everybody knows everybody's business even if they don't.

Quite a trend.

:)

There is something in that saying....you are the company you keep.

As to statistics of rape and violence, that is a topic on its own with layer upon layer of very touchy issues that would need admission and attention.

This is a new pandemic even outside this industry hence if you wanna chill over drinks and party the night away it's best to do it with someone you know and you have a mutual agreement that the outing or invitation means no payment afterwards. If you are gonna invite a lady from this platform and think that buying drinks for them is enough without having an agreement first then you have another thing coming. Ladies here charge for their time unless there was an agreement made beforehand then I don't see why one would just flip and start asking for money cos they already knew what they are getting themselves into.
If there was no agreement of such then I don't know, but claiming rape one is taking things too far. Prisons are full of men who were falsely accused and charged for rape and it took 1 little mishap so guys be careful who you deal with and always make sure that communication is clear enough before you jump on the bandwagon. This life is full of silly characters and it's getting worse.
