I had a connection. The aunty at the corner cafe was willing to sell me those naughty mags while I will still in high school provided there was nobody around in the shop. Really motivated me to get up and on to school so that I can hit them at 06:00 when they opened. First wait for one or two old timers who got their cigarettes before work, then I make my move and collect the mag I want - show it for the aunty to ring up, and slip it into my school bag before I pay. smooth. Same thing with tapes. Would ask her what movie to hold for me, and come Friday night I just pay and she gives me the tapes.
