I base the 1% on the fact that there are more than a 1500 services providers, assuming most get 1 visitor a day, some do get more more which then would calculate to more than 2000 punts on average daily.

Looking at the reviews, it is very seldom that more than 29 reviews are posted on a daily basis, and also very seldom that more than half of reviews posted are from Gold Members.

Now can you explain what are your basis that all reviews contribute a score towards the top 10 /100 listing.

When you use % you open the door to use 100 as as a reference number.
When you thus say 1% of visits result in a booking, the flipside implies that you need 100 visits to get one review.

50% of 1 is indeed 0.5, so in the context of this case we need to turn it around and say 2x0.5 =1.
Because if you have half apples, 2 half apples will make a full apple. So if you have gm reviews which in the context of your sentence "only 50% of the reviews are gm reviews", means a gm review is only half as likely to come so we can think of it as half a review so you have to double the number of gm reviews to get to the original total of reviews.
So now we say a 100 is needed to get any review which, when doubled means you need 200 visits to have the same probability of a scoring review.

But for clarity, not all reviews count in points, but they still count. They do count for reference as a lady with 0 score and no reviews are worse off than one with 0 score but with a few good non scoring reviews.

Therefore, for 200 bookings, less than 2 bookings get a review, and for those less than 2 reviews, less than 1 is a GM review.

@Kooni, I agree that, owing to such a small conversion rate, those reviews might not truly reflect all bookings statistically.

My opinion is that, on a scale of -10 to 10 (sounds funny but you know what I mean, scale of usefulness), I still wouldn't assign any value less than 0 to any review (especially when there are more than one review) since I always prefer some reviews to no review at all.
